About FeedMyStarter

FeedMyStarter is a small set of free tools for home sourdough bakers who would rather bake than do arithmetic.

Most starter advice says "feed it when it's ready." That's true, but it doesn't tell you how much flour to weigh out or whether your 66°F kitchen means waiting four hours or ten. These calculators turn the usual rules of thumb into grams and time windows you can plan around.

How we make the estimates

Every time estimate is a deliberately wide range built from common baking rules of thumb (warmer is faster, more fresh food is slower). We'd rather you check early than miss the peak. Your flour, water and starter will always be the final word.
